Final post

Sand Octopus Added colour, eyes, and nose holes. The tongue is also now attached to the bike. Had some trouble cutting out the holes, but a 2 minute tutorial from an Indian guy on youtube got me through. Wheel cap thing got to be a different colour because my flatmate couldn't tell that they were there when they were the same colour as the tires. The eyes were also originially going to be bigger as to me more in line with the production bible, but people thought it looked a bit goofy. I wasn't screen recording that though(I accidently set that part to record VLC media player that session) so no screenshots. Final design, would do more but I have other things in my life to do, such as go to my doctors appointment, and also deal with my sudden yet expected iron deficiency.

Tongue and Wheels

Image
Sand Octopus Added wheels, interconnecting bar, and tongue. Interconnecting bar was a pain, could've probably been done more efficiently but it is there now.  Peer review thinks the tongue is a bit skinny, and also that the top bit of the bike looking like that is a bit stupid. After this the tongue is going to be made a little bit thicker and changing the horn windshield to be pointy again. Also team member dropped out of Uni without telling us, so that's neat. Guess there's not going to be a head? I sure do love group projects.

idk what to name this.

Sand Octopus Made the front wider and a little thicker, back got shrunk and tail sharpened.  Feedback noted that in the prodcution bible that the top of the horn/windshield thing was slightly wider at the tip, so that got changed. Also handlebar is also a bit thicker after feedback noted it was a bit thin.

Porject start

Sand Octopus Bike is coming along. No issues. I think it looks fine, next step is to tidy it up a bit and then add wheels Feedback: Bike middle back is too wide and thick, and the opposite for the front.  Tail should be pointy.

Getting prod bible

Team Sand Octopus Flower Jumpsuit girl on Lizard Bike What makes the design unique? The bike is a lizard thing. What are some examples from the commercial space (TV/Film/Games etc) that are in the same general idea as the bible you are working from? Koraidon and Miraidon from Pokemon Scarlet/Violet are also lizard bikes. How cohesive are the vehicle and character in the provided bible? I don't think that the two parts work that well together, they give off two different vibes. Why are you either making changes to the provided bible designs or leaving them without changes? (discuss this in terms of visual design here, not just "It's fine as it is). It's fine as it is, I don't believe I would be able to make any major positive changes. What changes (if any) need to be made to the designs in the production bible to work in 3D? None as far as I know. Discussion on Aesthetic (how the project is looking/visual direction) Doesn't look like anything yet haven't s...

Final post for 2d stuff

Final design. In terms of the production triangle, this was neither good nor cheap, just fast. While very little money was spent(Drawing tablet was still expensive though) there were other prices paid in order to get it done. A lot of improvements could be done. The proportions look very off and aren't symmetrical. still can't draw hands or feet. or people in general.

Colours

Image
Did colour studies for the characters. Not sure if I did it right, but I got results so probably fine. Tried to go with bright vapor wave ish colours because I had to. Didn't turn out great, struggled to pick bright colours on the wheel. Also free trial of Adobe ended so switched to using Krita instead. Feedback: The second version's mask/hat looking like how a normal plague doctors mask would look works well in contrast with the bright colours. That on the third versions body would be good.
